XRMI 2020

Extended reality (XR) is a new but rapidly evolving area of research in medical image analysis. Advanced 3D imaging technologies and software methods have been proposed for surgical planning, practice and education for a few years now; and are more recently making their way into radiology imaging for cancer visualisation and parametric localisation of tumors. XR algorithms combined with head-mounted displays have a potential to completely transform clinical practice and influence every aspect of patient management and treatment pathways. They would enable clinicians to interact with real-time data in real space, while clinical information could be superimposed on reconstructed extended reality models. The workshop Extended Reality in Medical Imaging is presented as a part of the 3rd IEEE AIVR conference later this year. We aim to bring together clinicians, image analysts, industry experts and AI-XR engineers to propose ideas and present novel solutions that have a potential to improve healthcare capabilities, reduce complexities in interpreting clinical data and improve patient care.

All the papers should be submitted using EasyChair website under the track of “IEEE AIVR 2020 – Workshop on Extended Reality in Medical Imaging”

LOCATION

The workshop will take place during the IEEE 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence & Virtual Reality (AIVR 2020) in the city of Utrecht, which is the fourth largest city in The Netherlands. Here you find some local information about Utrecht. Details about the venue and travel to Utrecht will be posted here soon. In the meantime, feel free to read about it or explore Utrecht virtually.  Check the conference website for relevant information.

SUBMISSION

Authors are invited to submit a maximum 4 pages technical workshop paper in double-column IEEE format following the official IEEE Manuscript Formatting guidelines. All submissions will go through a double-blind peer-review process. Authors of accepted papers are expected to attend the conference and present their paper at the workshop.

Accepted workshop papers and special session papers will be published in the conference proceedings by IEEE Computer Society Press and included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
